JUNE 7, 2026 The start-up to Calgary’s vibrant festival season and encourages citizens to shake off their winter blues and reintroduce themselves to the thriving creative community in our city. Kicking off the summer is the 34th Lilac Festival. This annual FREE one-day celebration will be taking place along 4th Street between 12th Avenue and Elbow Drive SW. The festival will also extend along 17th Avenue between 2nd Street and 5th Street SW and will be lined with live entertainment, food trucks, local vendors, extended patios, and fun for all ages that celebrates the cultural diversity of our community. Thousands come out to the pedestrian-friendly 4th Street venue, offering an array of musical talent, over 500 vendors, and quality entertainment. This year’s Lilac Festival offers way more of a foodie experience than any year prior. So get ready to try new flavours, indulge in local favourites or explore international cuisines. See hundreds of local performers and 45+ dance groups, along with more room for vendors — making this year’s festival the largest Lilac Festival to date. Another stop to engage with local artists and small businesses in Calgary is the Kids Area which will be located on the west side of 18th Avenue and 4th Street. Snag an iconic image of Calgary for your feed on the corner of 13th Avenue and 4th Street SW and discover your new favourite local band as you travel between the eight stages!
